The gentle orange glow of the sunset is not unusual in this region of Provence in France. The village of Aigues-Mortes, dating back to the 10th century and was called Ayga Mortas which means 'dead waters', is situated near the Bouches du Rhone (the mouths of the Rhone) where these delta flatlands have spectacular, colorful sunsets.
The unique shape of the umbrella tree silhouetted against the orange sky at sunset, with vineyards in the foreground and an old farmhouse in the backdrop, is a sight worth remembering. The residents of the village of Aigues Mortes are able to enjoy a colorful sunset like this on many occasions throughout the year.
