This is a picture of Valencia, Spain's "City of Arts and Science", a unique "city within a city". As can be seen in this picture, this unique architectural structure is of modern design. This space age complex in Valencia is aimed toward encouraging the population toward a love of culture and science and it is quickly becoming one of Spain's top tourist attractions.
The architect, Santiago Calatrava, has planned this structure for visitors to walk to experience what the museum has to hold for them and they can amble through more than seven kilometers of hallways and rooms. A visit to all the buildings can be done in a day, but the visitor will be left with a desire to return to spend another day or two in this huge educational entertainment complex.

... When the visitor has finally accepted the impossibility of the unique structure, the eyelid of steel and glass blinks with the aid of a hydraulic lift.
In 2005, Spain's Queen Sofia completed the City of Arts and Science by officially opening the 1,888 seat opera house, a multi-hall Palace of the Arts which promotes dance, theatre and classical music to the people. The arts centre is equipped with the latest technological advances for the staging of shows.
Also part of the complex is the science museum which opened in 2000, designed by Felix Calatrava, some say it resembles a whale skeleton. Inside, the exhibits are arranged to be completely "hands-on", unlike most museums around the world where the exhibits are protected with ropes and signs, prohibiting interaction with the exhibits.
The Oceanografic, designed by Felix Candela, is next door to the museum and houses 500 species of fish and other marine creatures and there is a unique opportunity to have a personal experience in the touch pool with the marine life.
