Throughout Europe the poppy is actually a common weed but it is also recognized worldwide as a wartime remembrance and has be known to be used on tombstones to symbolize eternal sleep.
The poppy grows wild in many towns and villages in Spain and most fields are covered with the red colored poppy but they are known to grow and blossom in white, pink, yellow, orange and blue hues as well.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/10.0, exposure time of 1/125 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 220mm.
