As the water trails off the back of the Orca as he surfaces for air in the waters off Northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, the sunlight glistens off of his black and white coloring and his dorsal fin. This male's dorsal fin stands tall above the water's surface and under the sun's rays, you can see the wavy shape of his fin.
The sun slowly moves behind the mountains with the island shores in the background and the area around the killer whale being all that is illuminated by the remains of the day. This is a peaceful time in the waters off Northern Vancouver Island as you can listen to the sound that comes from the blow hole of the whale without any interruptions from marine vessels.
