The beautiful Waitemata Harbour in Auckland, aka the City of Sails on the North Island of New Zealand. Auckland City and the famous Sky Tower is seen here at sunset from Mt Victoria Reserve and Lookout in the suburb of Devonport on the North Shore. All the buildings are lit up along the Auckland City waterfront with the Sky Tower pointing straight up in the middle.
The Sky Tower is a telecommunications and observation tower which can be assessed via elevator for stupendous views of the city and harbour from sunrise to sunset. It is 328 metres tall and is the tallest free standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere - it is so famous in the city of Auckland that is is often featured on postcards and views of the city.
