As well as being the political centre point of New Zealand and the countries capital city, Wellington has a lively nightlife and is an important centre for the performing arts. Wellington is the centre for the Film and Theatre industry and is home to high profile institutions such as the Royal New Zealand Ballet, and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
Wellington received its name in honor of the first Duke of Wellington, Arthur Wellesley who was also the victor in the battle of Waterloo. It became the capital city of New Zealand in 1865, taking over from Auckland, further north.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/5.6, exposure time of 1/125 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 40mm.
