The sandy path stretching out toward the Tasman Sea is just the tip of the iceberg as far as sand is concerned. Wharariki Beach is known for its massive sand dunes, larges caves, towering cliffs, and rolling waves. A track leads from the car park across farm land to Wharariki Beach and continues to Farewell Spit the northern most tip of the South Island of New Zealand.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/9.0, exposure time of 1/160 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 24mm.
