A dramatic and spectacular area to visit during a vacation is the White Cliffs of the North Taranaki Bight on the North Island of New Zealand.
A popular place for the adventurous, the White Cliffs scenic reserve provides great abseiling possibilities with tracks leading back to the top to start all over.
Another must do in the region is the 9.6 km long White Cliffs Walkway. The track runs between Pukearuhe and Tongaporutu along the North Taranaki Bight coastline and takes approximately 5 hours to complete (one way). Parts of the walk can be done along the beach - subject to tides.
