The little village of Castell de Castells in Valencia, Spain is situated at the source of the river Jalon high in the mountains of Marina Alta. Castell de Castells is a peaceful spot, an ideal place to visit and take a rest from the busy Mediterranean coast.
In the village square a traveling fishmonger sells his fresh fish three times a week, and every Saturday there is a market selling most everything from fresh vegetables to clothes and shoes. In the springtime one can see colourful poppies, dandelions and other wildflowers blooming under the olive groves and almond trees. The unique warm autumn climate of Castell de Castella in Valencia brings forth a second flowering season of wild blooms, shrubs and herbs.
The olive groves of this area are still harvested the old-fashioned way and the virgin olive oil produced is one of the best in Spain. ... continue below the picture...
