An evening beachwalk for the Yellow-Eyed Penguins at Roaring Bay in Otago on the South Island of New Zealand is a ritual for these cute birds during breeding season. The penguins will spend the days feeding in the waters off Otago, New Zealand and then return to their nesting grounds every evening, some nests could be as far as a kilometer from the beach.
