Near the lakeshore of Lake Hawea in Central Otago on the S South Island of New Zealand, one can find a massive spread of Lupinus arboreus or Yellow Tree Lupins.
A picture which gives one the idea on how fast this aggressive self seeder plant can spread, causing a weed problem in some areas of New Zealand. When the Yellow Tree Lupins are in full bloom, the fragrance and color around the area is beautiful as the two metre tall plants sway in the breeze.
Yellow Tree Lupins, Lupinus arboreus, Lake Hawea, Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand.
