Pictures Of Keremeos Okanagan
Photo gallery with pictures taken in the town of Keremos in the Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada. (There are 19 photos in this photo gallery.)
Keremeos is primarily a farming and retirement community with a slower pace and friendly lifestyle. Set amidst some of the most spectacular scenery in North America, Keremeos is a 40 minute drive from Osoyoos and the United States Border and is able to boast about its Cottonwood groves, well-tended orchards, alpine peaks with sapphire blue lakes and desert landscapes with interesting flora.
History and heritage abound in Keremeos. The village had its beginnings as a Hudson's Bay Trading Post and today, the well-preserved 1900's buildings in the Village lend a distinctive Old West flavour. After visiting the farmers markets, tourists enjoy a tour of the authentic, water-powered grist mill where staff will explain and demonstrate how gardening, milling and the many other tasks of the goldmining era were done. Keremeos is located at the junction of Highway 3 and Highway 3A, 48 kilometres (30 miles) northwest of Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada in the Similkameen Valley.
