An arch of smooth granite rock shaped by mother nature frames the rocky landscape of the Alabama Hills Recreation Area.
This rock formation took many years for nature to sculpt by rain and wind. Though the arch looks smooth it is actually pitted probably from being sand blasted on a regular basis.
The golden rocks in the background, some smooth and others with sharp tips, are scattered around creating different patterns.
