Once an ancient sea, the Bisti Badlands are now high and dry. The scenery doesn't give much away as far as the history of the Bisti Wilderness but on closer inspection one can find many indications of the areas past.
Hoodoos, intriguing rock formations, petrified forests and fossils all exposed after years of erosion are the main focus of the scenery seen throughout the badlands and give insight into what prehistoric events took place here in New Mexico centuries ago.
To get an overview of the scenery of the Bisti Badlands in New Mexico, there are many high points to climb high above the hoodoos, buttes and hills.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, aperture of f/16.0, exposure time of 1/20 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 18mm.
