During the world famous Calgary Stampede Parade, even the police join in the fun!
The major annual event, the Calgary Stampede Parade, requires a Police escort. The Calgary Stampede Parade is a big day out for families and tourists alike. On Parade day the multitudes of people who show up in downtown Calgary are entertained by clowns and costumed characters even before the main Parade begins.
The Parade lasts around 2 hours and travels a large circuit of cordoned off streets in downtown Calgary. A police escort is partly the contribution to the event by the local police department in Calgary.
