One large cloud hangs over the water at Cape Egmont, New Zealand and blocks the bright round fiery ball of the sun during a breathtaking sunset. The rays from the sun still manage to break through the clouds where the thinner ones linger in the background sky emitting yellow streaks of light.
The mixture of the clouds and the sun creates a golden tone to the surrounding area as the last remaining light of the day sparkles off the crest of the waves. As the waves reach the coastline along the beach at Cape Egmont, they begin to break creating a white foamy line across the water almost looking like an ice ridge.
Each stunning sunset that fills the New Zealand sky is different and sitting along the beach at Cape Egmont you will see some magnificent sunset displays. Not only are sunsets a highlight at Cape Egmont beach but you will also find unique black lava rocks, a lighthouse and superb places to camp for a night or two. After a good night's sleep, head to the nearby volcano of Mt. Taranki and spend the day hiking and catch the early beginnings of the sunset from a different angle.

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II, aperture of f/7.1, exposure time of 1/160 sec. on ISO 50, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 300mm.
