A popular tourist attraction is the Cape Reinga lighthouse situated on the northern tip of the New Zealand overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tasman Sea.
One of the many Light Houses found in New Zealand. Cape Reinga Lighthouse marks the Northern Tip of New Zealand. As with most Light Houses, this one is now fully automated but in a beautiful location.
I´m fascinated by Light Houses and their locations. The Cape Reinga Light House location is of important significance to the Maori people of New Zealand, as it is said to be the leaping off point for the spirits of the dead to begin their journey back to their traditional home land of Hawaiki.
