The Prairie provinces of Canada are an excellent venue to appreciate the many weather phenomena Nature gives us. Whether it be lightning storms or sunsets the flat terrain shows off the full beauty of the skies.
The combination of the cloud formations and the almost unbelievable colours of the sunset tinting them is a feast for the eyes. The people of Winnipeg need the lovely sunsets because, in the winter, they have a great deal of snow, an average of 132 days a year, as well as low temperatures. The open prairie landscape, cannot stop the strong winds coming down from the Arctic, although the wind also makes the skies clearer so the sun can shine through.

... The different shades of mauve, orange and golden yellow are are reflected on the clouds and trees can only bring pleasure to all who see them.
