The interior of the Duomo, the Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, in the city of Florence, Italy in Europe, is immense and because of the high arches, gives the impression of emptiness even when crowded. Much of the artworks and embellishments have either been lost over the years or moved to the nearby Museum, but the inlaid floors are still there to be admired.
Tour guides will take visitors around the Duomo, where you can learn a great deal of knowledge about this incredible architectural masterpiece, while others like to tour through the Duomo on their own. Whichever way people like to explore the sights while visiting the city of Florence, Italy, the interior of the Duomo is always amazing.
