Franz Josef I (1830 - 1916) was the emperor of Austria. He was also the King of Hungary, King of Bohemia (1848 - 1916) and was a German prince. He reigned as emperor for 68 years which is the third longest rule in European history.
The equestrian statue situated next to the Albertina Museum in downtown Vienna is a monument to the emperor.
