Situated on the eastern shores of the mighty Lake Superior, Pancake Bay is a pristine provincial park less than an hours drive from the city of Sault Ste Marie (65 kilometres).
The park is a haven for nature lovers and offers a range of facilities from a full service campground situated on the shores of Lake Superior to nature trails through forests of maple and birch. The sandy beach of Pancake Bay stretches for 3.2 kilometres. Walking barefooted in the warm sand during the summer months is a very pleasant experience!
While Lake Superior laps at the sandy shores of Pancake Bay, it is fringed by sand dunes and backdropped by pine trees. Further inland the pines give way to sugar maples and yellow birch trees and other vegetation reminiscent of the transitional zone between that of the Great Lakes-St Lawrence lowlands and the Northern Boreal forest.
