The construction of the Legislature Building in Edmonton, Alberta took place between 1907 and 1913 and was created in the Beaux Arts style. The building itself stands about 180 feet high and costs soared to about four million dollars upon completion.This style of building has a large dome in the center which towers above a rotunda, with both sides of the building extending outwards to form the shape of a tee. Around each window and door stands arches and large concrete columns on the exterior of the building support the unique design of the Legislature Building.The interior of the Legislature Building is exquisite with granite and sandstone floors. Most of the decor is marble, mahogany, oak and brass and it all molds together to form a fascinating landmark.Inside these walls there are meetings where eighty-three members of the Legislative Assembly congregate.
