The landscape around Mt Ruapehu on the North Island of New Zealand has the perfect conditions for the Mountain Daisy to grow to its fullest potential. December and January are the prime months in New Zealand for the Mountain Daisy to flower and does so without anybody caring for it.
The beautiful white petals that encompass the yellow center are very refreshing looking and are easily noticed when hiking around Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand. The Mountain Daisy has many different variations that flourish in New Zealand and are one of the most common plants found around the mountains.
They grow on single long white stems and are quite a bit larger than the common daisy that we all know. There are close to sixty different species that are found in New Zealand which can sometimes make it difficult to identify them properly. ... continue below the picture...
... When hiking through the mountain passes in the summer months in New Zealand you will see hundreds of these beautiful flowers across the slopes. When the Mountain Daisy is in full bloom, they create a very colorful photo as they stand tall amid the mountainous vegetation.
