A cafe in the Piazza del Campo in the city of Siena, Tuscany in Italy is a comfortable place to see the unique shell shape of the city centre. The famous Torre del Mangia and the Palazzo Pubblico (Town Hall) are at the foot of the shell and the 13th century Palazzo Sansedoni curves along the top side of this beautiful Italian Piazza.
The open area was established before the thirteenth century as a central marketplace and today many of the buildings remain in their original medieval times. A majority of the public events are still held at the Piazza del Campo, some which include bullfights, executions, festivals and the Palio which happens twice every year.
