The riverboat known as the SS Keno now sits at the docks at the National Historic Site in Dawson City in the Yukon Territory, Canada. This riverboat made many trips up and down the waters during the Klondike Gold Rush Days bringing gold, silver lead and zinc to the district of Mayo.If it wasn't for the SS Keno and other riverboats, the Canadian regions would have suffered immensely. It would have taken many years for goods to have been brought out of the hills where it was originally found. Not only did the SS Keno riverboat bring in the minerals, but it also brought news, groceries and equipment to the people of the Yukon Territory. This riverboat served many purposes in its time and helped in all aspects of human survival. While visiting Dawson City in the Yukon Territory in Canada be sure to check out the SS Keno and learn of its Canadian history. Each riverboat has its own tales to tell and as you wander along this historic site make sure that you learn about the Sternwheeler Kiosk and see the Sternwheeler Exhibit. ... continue below the picture...
