One of my favourite Rivers is the Mistaya River located in the Banff National Park along the Icefields Parkway in Alberta, Canada. Originating as melt water from Peyto Lake, Mistaya River then drops from Bow Summit and is squeezed into the narrow Mistaya Canyon. This picture shows the river just before it rushes through the Canyon.
Both the river and canyon are accessible by a short walk along a hiking trail which starts at the Icefield Parkway in the Rocky Mountains. You can see the intricately carved limestone walls of the canyon which have been gouged out by the constant rushing water of the Mistaya River.
