Another one of my classic photos which I just scanned on the Hasselblad X5 scanner. The beautiful sand dunes with deep ripples of Sossusvlei in Namib-Naukluft National Park in Namibia. To many the picture will look oversaturated and much too colorful but believe me, it is not.
The sand dunes vary in colors quite a bit and range from bright yellow all the way into a light cast of red. This is also a reason why they sometimes referred to as the "red sand dunes at Sossusvlei".
The nature and landscape here in the Namib-Naukluft National Park is very unique and constantly changing. Today the sand dunes are a big tourist attraction and you can choose if you want to visit them by car, pane or even in a hot air ballon.
I photographed this photo on Fuji Velvia film with a Mamiya RZ67 in the format 6x7cm.
