The horses and riders with their Canada flags are just one of the many participants of the annual Calgary Stampede parade held in Alberta. The prelude to the parade starts bright and early on parade day which features street entertainers.
This early morning entertainment includes music, dancers, singers, horses and clowns which keeps the thousands of people that arrive early busy until the main parade of the Calgary Stampede. The official parade begins at 8:55 a.m. and you will find the sidewalks jammed with people that come out to see this fantastic display.
The Calgary Stampede parade is a highlight throughout Alberta which takes up four full lanes of the streets and is approximately two hours long. There are about 4,000 people that participate in the parade and about 350,000 that come out to watch.The Calgary Stampede Parade brings out cowboy hats from all over the world and it is a tremendous way to start off the exciting ten days that the Stampede runs every year. ... continue below the picture...
