Stephen Avenue Mall or Walk as it is sometimes known, is actually a portion of 8th Avenue SW in downtown Calgary and is closed to vehicles except between the hours of 6 pm and 6 am at night. Stephen Avenue is home to high end retail boutiques, pubs, cafes and some of Calgary's finest restaurants. Named after George Stephen - the first President of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Stephen Avenue was declared to be a Canadian historic site in 1992. The Steel "Trees" sculpture was designed to reduce the effect of the strong winds that blow in Calgary between the buildings, especially in the winter.
The futuristic sculpture "Trees" formed of powerful steel shapes and sharp angles against the the deep purple night sky and lighted skyscrapers in the background forms abstract art from whatever position they are viewed. ... continue below the picture...

I photographed this photo with the digital SLR camera model Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, aperture of f/9.0, exposure time of 5/1 sec. on ISO 100, as always I used a original Canon Lens, the focus lenght for this picture was 14mm.
