These clouds lit up at sunset not only signal the end of another day, but also the impending threat of a thunder storm. This combination of weather patterns makes for a vibrant bright sky in this part of the city of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada. It almost looks as if the city is on fire and the sky has lit up with the colours of the blaze, but it is merely the sun and the thunder clouds that combine to make this effect.
Sunsets can be a magical time of day, especially when the sunset is so amazing, such as the one captured here. The reason that the sunset contains such vibrant yellow and red colours in this photo is due to the way that the sun is dispersing the thunder clouds forming over the region. Depending on what particles are in the air, sunsets can be any number of colours, but if you have a trained eye, you can tell what is happening in the sky by what colour it turns as the sun goes down.
