Driving along the Southern Scenic Route in Otago on the South Island of NZ you pass through this beautiful fishing village of Taieri Mouth. Along the beach you will find old wooden piers where many fishing boats stop to tie up and head into the village for a peaceful nights sleep.This fishing boat is alone in the harbour of Taieri Mouth, NZ which is not totally out of character but there are usually a few more boats than this. When the fishermen decide to call it a day and Taieri Mouth is close by, they usually have no problem in finding a place along the piers to tie up.Taieri Mouth in Otago, NZ is a great village to spend a night or two so you can explore the beach, take a dip in the harbour, lunch at one of the picnic spots or enjoy some of the historic attractions. ... An average hike is about four hours return but if you stop at the viewpoints along the way you could extend your journey into an all day affair.
