Abraham a Sancta Clara was a great Austrian divine who was born in July, 1644 and passed away in December of 1709 and a statue in his memory now stands in Vienna, Austria. He created and published many writings which were closely related to what he told to people at the pulpit.He was born in Kreenheinstetten near Messkirch, Germany but eventually went to Austria where he began his true calling. In 1662 at the age of eighteen he joined a Catholic order where he was given his religious name of Abraham a Sancta Clara. He continued here at this church until he eventually became the priest in charge of his province.Abraham a Sancta Clara had many followers which were all amazed at his force, humor, imagination and in the way that he conducted his sermons to the people. He was known as an extremely remarkable preacher in the German language until his death in 1709 and now people still walk by his statue in Vienna, Austria and talk of his greatness. ... continue below the picture...
