Although originally constructed during the 17th century, The Albertina Museum was only named such in 1921 after a change of ownership of both the building and the important art collections it housed. The existing collections and those of the former imperial court library were combined in 1920.
Throughout its existence, the Albertina Museum has undergone various refurbishments, and remains a popular attraction in the city of Vienna, Austria.
