In Banff National Park, a snow angel is made in the freshly fallen snow on Waterfowl Lake. The towering snow covered Mount Chephren is a misty backdrop to Waterfowl Lake which is surrounded by the majestic scenery of the Rocky Mountains.
Mount Chephren is part of the Canadian Rockies with an elevation of 3,307 metres (10,850 ft). This mountain is located in the Mistaya River Valley in the Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada. In 1897, it was originally named Pyramid Mountain but there was another mountain peak with the same name in the Jasper National Park, so it was renamed in 1918 to Chephren. The Icefields Parkway, also known as Highway 93, is about 230 kilometers (143 miles). This scenic road travels through Banff National Park and Jasper National Park and runs parallel with the Continental Divide.
