This stunning wintry snow covered night scene was taken in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains in Alberta, Canada. The illuminated trees are lit up by artificial winter lights and make the whole scene have a magical and dreamy quality to it. The building that can be seen here is the Post Hotel, located just along the snowy banks of the Pipestone River along Lake Louise. Banff National Park is also part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This means that it is protected land and it cannot be developed in any way.
This scene here looks like what many have imagined the North Pole to look like if Santa's workshop was surrounded by mountains and trees. ... continue below the picture...
... The scene looks so cosy all nestled amongst the trees and it looks like an oasis of warmth and comfort after the cold and snowy exterior.
The Post Hotel is also a spa so when visitors come here they can be pampered and treated to some luxurious spa treatments among the Canadian Rocky Mountains. It is also located very close to the largest ski area in Canada and it is so popular that visitors often have to book far in advance. It is open all year round so when you cannot go skiing you can take hikes among the trees and mountains and enjoy the fresh air.
