Beautiful British Columbia has that slogan for a reason. When waterfalls such as this one can be found in nature, visitors and locals realize that British Columbia is truly a naturally beautiful area of the world and that many nations envy them this fact. This waterfall seen here is Rainbow Falls located in Monashee Provincial Park, which is in the Okanagan region of British Columbia. Some parts of the Okanagan are more arid and desert-like, but some, like Monashee Provincial Park, is lush and green and full of growth.
Rainbow Falls is just a short walk from the Monashee Provincial Park parking lot so it is more of a stop on the journey than a destination for a hike. It ... continue below the picture...
... is well worth the quick detour however and there has been a viewing platform built at the bottom so visitors can take photos and admire the falls without getting too close.
Part of the appeal of Rainbow Falls also includes the old growth cedar forest that surrounds the waterfall, as it is an example of the untouched British Columbia forest the province is known for. There is also the possibility that any visitors could see some of the wildlife that is native to the region here as well, as many creatures live in these forests. These beautiful falls are well worth even a quick visit while you are in the Okanagan.
