Frozen to ice over time as winter grips the region, the Upper Falls of Johnston Canyon in Banff National Park appear in beautiful blue columnar formations which contrast softly against the jagged walls of the canyon.
Johnston Canyon is a popular spot for ice climbing in the winter but is also a major attraction for those seeking beautiful winter scenery which there is no shortage of in Banff National Park. Many waterfalls which flow freely during the summer months freeze into interesting formations with vivid shades of blue during the winter
