When you arrive in Calgary, Alberta and you head downtown to where all the excitement and action takes place, you will be surrounded by skyscrapers which are homes to many professional offices. Many of these skyscrapers reach heights of over five hundred feet making them tower over some of the older heritage buildings.
The first skyscraper ever built in downtown Calgary was the Elveden House which was twenty floors high and was completed in 1960. A project for a skyscraper that is underway will be fifty-nine floors and seven hundred and seventy-four feet high when finished.
