The historic castle in the town of Morella in Spain stands as a reminder of the of the many battles and different countries which have shaped the face of Spain today.
The Castell de Morella in the Communidad Valenciana, Castellon in Spain was constructed on a massive rock formation by the Arabs during the many centuries of the Moor occupation. Over the years the Morella castle has been under siege, destroyed and rebuilt by Celts, Romans, Iberians and Christians.
Around the Morella castle in Spain, an artillery wall has slits only wide enough for archers of old to take aim at the enemy, although today these same openings are great for the photo enthusiasts to take shots of the beautiful, fertile valley below. The town of Morella in Castellon, Spain is a peaceful and charming place, surrounded by an ancient wall. The small shops sell local food and produce at a reasonable price, and although tourists do visit historic Morella, they are not as abundant as in some of the larger Spanish Mediterranean spots.
