The Iglesia de la Santa Maria la Coronda is a church that is located in the town of Medina Sidonia along the Costa de la Luz in the Province of Cadiz, Andalusia, Spain. The name in English means 'the Church of Saint Mary the Crowned' referring to the mother of Jesus Christ, Mary.
Building was started on this church in 1518, at the request of the 6th Duke of Medina, Don Juan Alonso Perez de Guzman. It wasn't finished until the year 1615 so it took a long time to build. ... These kinds of churches or buildings are used in literature often to describe where sinister characters live for example.
The church is now a cultural monument in Spain and can be visited by anyone traveling through this region if they wish. The view from the top of the bell tower that can be seen from this angle, is gorgeous, and people can see across the whole city. It has all the traditional features of other churches, such as a nave and a chapel, but due to its careful construction and intricate design, it also has something special to offer and feels as if it was just constructed yesterday and not hundreds of years ago.
