Photo: Saint Boniface Museum

Situated near the banks of the Red River opposite The Forks, is Winnipeg's oldest building which houses the Saint Boniface Museum.

Designated a National Historic site of Canada in 1958, the former convent run by the Grey Nuns is now home to the Saint Boniface Museum (aka Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum) in the City of Winnipeg. It was built between 1846 and 1851 using the Red River method of tongue and groove - no nails where used in its construction.
