There's a lot of sky in Saskatchewan. The sun, stars, moon, and clouds animate this prairie province in central-western Canada. About half the province is dedicated to farming of some sort, be it cattle, crops, or forestry. Away from commercial lands, many lakes and rivers reflect the passion of the sky. Bring your paddle and canoe some of the streams that meander through the Canadian Shield in Northern Saskatchewan.
And in the middle of it all, the Great Sand Hills- 1900 square kilometers of dessert-like sand dunes. At the mercy of Chinook winds blowing from the Canadian Rockies, the Great Sand Hills are constantly changing, even migrating East about 4 meters per year.
The city of Regina is Canada's sunniest capital, alive with history of First Nations and colonization. The sky may not have changed much, but from First Nations to commercial agriculture, the Saskatchewan prairies have seen a lot of change. ...More information below photos...
